About
It all started from a conversation among flatmates back in 2018 in the city of Enschede, where Eze discovered his flatmate was working for an innovative foundation he had never heard of before. By creating We Are Glocals, he aims to fill in the gap in knowledge between what is truly necessary for someone to know to have a positive impact through one's consumption and the repetitive non-sense that asks for our attention on a daily basis.
The fundraising side of the project got triggered in 2020 and inspired by the initiative of 7 Amsterdam-based labels through the release of the "In Unity, There Is Strength" t-shirt by Daily Paper, Filling Pieces, Patta, Olaf Hussein, Smib, The New Originals and Hosselaer, where all proceeds from the sale were donated to Kick Out Zwarte Piet, The Black Archives, and Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL, organizations responsible for creating awareness and organizing multiple protests against white supremacy, trans-phobia, and racism in the Netherlands.
Thanks to the example provided by its counterparts, We Are Glocals aims to use the power of social media to promote to think, act and consume in a more sustainable & responsible fashion.
